Our Story
St. Johns Smile Co. is an independent, family-owned practice run by a husband-and-wife team: Dr. Andrew Awad, a dentist focused on implant and cosmetic care, and Dr. Stephanie Labib, a board-certified orthodontist.
Dr. Labib is from Rhode Island and Dr. Awad is from Texas. They met at church in Philadelphia, when Dr. Awad was in his dental residency and Dr. Labib was in dental school. Dr. Awad earned his dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh and completed a general practice residency at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Labib earned her dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
When Dr. Labib was accepted into the Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics, they moved to Northeast Florida. They fell in love with the coastal setting and the people here, and they knew this was home.
In April 2025, Dr. Awad and Dr. Labib opened St. Johns Smile Co. in Nocatee as a brand-new, independent practice. They chose to open on their own on purpose. They didn't like the direction dentistry was heading, where the growing presence and pressure of large corporations can turn patients into numbers. They wanted a practice where care is conservative, personal, and holistic. We focus on preserving your natural teeth and on building real relationships with the people we care for.
With a dentist and an orthodontist under one roof, your family can get checkups, fillings, braces, and aligners in one office, with doctors who know you by name.
Above all, we want you to feel that we're on your side. Our office is judgment-free. We take the time to explain your options so you leave informed, empowered, and encouraged to reach good health.
Our anchor logo is a nod to the waterways that shape life here. To us, an anchor stands for stability, strength, and endurance, and that's the kind of steady care we want to give.
Outside the office, Dr. Awad and Dr. Labib enjoy the beach, fishing, hiking, and traveling, often with their dog, Cleo. They're also involved in the youth ministry at their church in Mandarin.

Dr. Andrew Awad, DMD
General Dentist
Dr. Andrew Awad is a dedicated dental professional known for his commitment to providing exceptional patient care. He holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and completed a rigorous general practice residency at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. An active member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Awad is passionate about advancing his expertise through ongoing education in implant dentistry, minimally invasive techniques, and oral surgery.
With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Awad brings a holistic understanding of health and wellness to his practice. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys an active lifestyle, often found hiking, biking, and playing basketball. He also cherishes quiet moments reading or fishing and values giving back to the community through his church service.

Dr. Stephanie Labib is a board-certified orthodontist. She earned her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and her Master of Orthodontics from Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics.
She is committed to providing high-quality care and fostering trust with her patients. With a strong foundation in orthodontics, she utilizes the latest techniques and technology to create personalized treatment plans that cater to each individual’s needs. Dr. Labib believes that a beautiful smile can transform lives, and she takes pride in guiding her patients through their orthodontic journey with compassion and expertise.
Her dedication to excellence is reflected in her meticulous approach and her focus on patient comfort and satisfaction. Dr. Labib understands that trust is paramount in a patient-provider relationship, and she strives to build lasting connections with everyone she treats.
