KöR Whitening, Planned Around Your Smile
KöR Whitening is a professional whitening system offered only through dental offices. We start with a scan of your teeth to make thin, custom KöR-Seal trays. Most patients wear them at home, often overnight for about two weeks, and some KöR options add one or two short whitening visits in our office. We’ll choose the right option with you.
KöR was developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, a dentist who has spent decades researching teeth whitening. The system depends on two details. The first is the custom KöR-Seal trays. They’re thin and flexible, made to fit your teeth closely, and they seal at the gumline so the gel stays on your teeth instead of being washed away by saliva. Most patients find them comfortable enough to sleep in. The second is refrigeration. KöR keeps its gels cold from the time they’re made until they reach our office. Every at-home kit also includes a desensitizer, and KöR reports that most patients have little to no sensitivity.
KöR is for teens and adults, and KöR suggests starting around age 14. It has options for everyday staining and for tougher cases, such as tetracycline staining, which take longer. Whitening works on natural teeth only, so crowns, veneers, and fillings won’t change color, and we’ll talk that through before you start. Results vary from person to person and depend on wearing your trays consistently, so every plan begins with an exam and an honest conversation about what whitening can do for you.
