Replacing One Tooth, Planned Around You

What Are Single Tooth Implants?

A single tooth implant replaces one missing tooth, root and all. It starts with a small titanium post placed in the jawbone. Over time, the bone bonds to the post, giving it a stable base. A custom crown is then attached to the post, shaped and shaded to match your neighboring teeth.

Unlike a traditional bridge, an implant doesn’t need support from the teeth beside it, so those teeth don’t have to be reshaped. After a tooth is lost, the jawbone in that spot can slowly shrink. An implant sits in the bone like a root, and that can help preserve the bone around it. It’s designed to be a long-term option that lets you chew and speak comfortably. Like natural teeth, it needs daily brushing, flossing, and regular checkups.

At your consultation, Dr. Awad will look at your 3D scan with you to see whether there’s enough bone for an implant and whether a graft might be needed first. He places and restores implants here in our office, and when a graft is needed, it’s done here too.

Benefits of Single Tooth Implants

Helps Preserve the Jawbone

When a tooth is lost, the bone that held it can shrink over time. An implant sits in the jawbone like a natural root, and the everyday pressure of chewing can help stimulate and preserve the bone around it.

Your Neighboring Teeth Stay as They Are

A traditional bridge usually means reshaping the teeth on each side of the gap. A single implant stands on its own, so your healthy neighboring teeth can be left untouched.

Designed to Blend In

Your crown is custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth, so it’s designed to blend in with your smile.

Why Trust St. Johns Smile Co?

We’re a family-owned practice, and we take the time to plan each implant with care. Your consultation includes a 3D scan, so we can see the bone and the space where the tooth is missing, and explain what it means for your options in plain language. Your crown is designed to fit your bite and match the teeth around it.

From your consultation to your final crown, your care stays with Dr. Awad and our team here, and we’ll explain each step without rushing you. If dental visits make you nervous, tell us. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral conscious sedation, and we’ll talk through whether either one is a good fit for your treatment.
